About me
I am Associate Professor of Nordic Linguistics at Volda University College and PI of the MInDReading project (NFR FRIPRO, 2026–2030). My research uses narrow grammatical variation (from ongoing language change and sociolinguistic variation to dialect contact and bidialectalism) as a window onto real-time language processing, asking what narrow variability within and between speakers reveals about the mechanisms of language comprehension and the nature of grammatical representations.
In my work, I combine variationist sociolinguistics with experimental methodologies (EEG, eye-tracking, self-paced reading, speech production), with broader interests in (morpho)phonology, (morpho)syntax, language change, corpus linguistics, and Nordic language history.
